"An Abundance of Wildlife"

Tanzania offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities with well known parks such as the vast savanna of the Serengeti, the unique enclosed environment of the Ngorongoro Crater, the bush country of Tarangire, Lake Manyara and more. Throughout the parks can be found an abundance of wildlife for East Africa is so well known, wildebeest zebra, elephant, gazelle, buffalo, lion, cheetah, a variety of birds and more.

Tanzania also offers a fantastic cultural diversity embracing 120 distinct tribes from the iconic Maasai pastoralist of the Rift valley to the Arab–Influenced Swahili of the coast, to the hadzabe hunter–gatherers of Lake Eyasi.

Tanzania like Kenya shares in the biggest annual event, The Great Migration, when a million wildebeest move north from the Serengeti into the Maasai Mara. At this time more than a million wildebeest and zebra move to the Mara for new grass and the calving season. Most spectacular part of the migration, the river crossings, 25 mile long columns of wildebeest and zebra plunge through crocodile infested waters, a sight not to be missed.

The other big attraction in Tanzania, is the exotic island of Zanzibar. Set in tranquil coral waters, Zanzibar, is one of the world's most beautiful islands. Here there are many beach resports, all offering excellent diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing and other beach activities. However it is Stone Town that attracts most visitors. Stone Town is the old city and cultural heart of Zanzibar, little changed in the last 200 years. It is a place of winding alleys, bustling bazaars, mosques and grand Arab houses (now museums) whose original owners vied with each other over the extravagance of their dwellings. This is particularly reflected in the many brass-studded, carved, wooden doors. You can spend many hours and days just wandering through the fascinating labyrinth of narrow streets and alleyways. Here there are a variety of hotels and restaurants and not to be missed the evening beach barbecue.
